Vegas: The One That Was Too Much

Vegas was… something. Everything was so extra. Don’t get be wrong — it was amazing. I was in awe, but it’s definitely too much. One week would be more than enough.

Vegas was the final stop in our two-week trip. I went with three female friends, and we met up with a fourth there. We drove to Vegas from Yosemite. It was a lot of fun.

Tip: there was a lot of estrogen in our group. I highly recommend that you bring some guys. There are many reasons. Girls stick together, but guys make things more casual and fun. But going with only guys would also suck (in my honest opinion). Best bet is to have an even number of both genders on your trip!

Tip: If you have time, make a day trip to the Grand Canyon.

We stayed at a friend’s place for the majority of our visit, but we stayed at The Cosmopolitan (hotel) for one night to really experience that “luxurious lifestyle”. It was just like every other hotel we visited in Vegas (you should definitely go inside the other hotels… they’re just so extravagant). Shiny with a huge casino.

We also walked around outside. It was really hot and humid, but all the buildings are air conditioned so it was okay. I’ll just show you photos because I really cannot adequately describe everything in words. Everything was just so colourful, shiny, and bright. There were lights everywhere.

At night, everything was more. Just… more.

By the way, these photos are not edited.

My advice for Vegas is just to walk around as much as possible. Go into as many buildings as possible. Every hotel has something “special”, like a big fountain or European-design ceilings. There is a fake volcano, ziplining, a chocolate fountain, and other weird (cool) things.

Now, let’s talk about the party life. I was only really in Vegas for two, maybe three days, so I’m no expert… but the party life was amazing. I would call it nightlife, but it doesn’t have to even be at night when you’re in VEGAS! There are daytime clubs that have outdoor pools (and these clubs just go into the night) and you just… dance all day. It’s ridiculous and amazing and awesome because the weather is beautiful and it’s not dark everywhere. The music was the perfect mix of EDM, rap, and pop.

Definitely worth it, even if you don’t really like to party. Girls get in for cheaper! So when you walk around Vegas during the day and you see those promoters shoving  their cards at you — take them all! You’ll likely find a good deal.

Clubs also have free stuff. We went to one that had free cotton candy and ice cream and everything!

There are always events with really cool DJs. When we were in Vegas, we went to see Tiesto. It was full and crowded and I left after an hour, but my friends had a lotttt of fun. I’m just not really into packed clubs. I need my personal space!

And, of course, I will talk about food.

On the last day, we went to Umami. SOOO GOOD. I ordered kimchi  sweet potato fries (BEST FRIES EVER). I know it sounds fucking weird, but it was hands down the best thing I ate in Vegas. And the burger was delicious too. GO THERE! I think it’s a chain so it exists in other parts of the states!

Let me know if you have any questions! I’ll try my best to answer them. This goes for any place/blog entry. I also welcome general questions. I’m not the master of travel or anything, but I love to share my thoughts. 🙂
